ABOUT US The Scott Aero Club is located on Scott Air Base near Belleville, Illinois. We serve the military, civilian, and contactor community on Scott. We provide flight instruction, introductory flights, FAA written test capabilities, and we also have a Designated Pilot Examiner locally who is certified to give Private Pilot check rides. Private Pilot Ground School classes are held at the aero club or the local Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC).
We also offer flight accessories and optional training aids for sale; please check with us on pricing and availability.

FEES & CHARGES Membership fees: View the Join page for membership information Aircraft Rental: View the Aircraft page for rental information Flight Instruction: $40/Hr Simulator: $20/Hr, plus $40/Hr for Instructor Introductory Flight: Starting at $65 These flights are designed to get you flying. You will receive a briefing from one of our Certified Flight Instructors, then head out to the aircraft. Once there preflight the aircraft, taxi to the runway, and begin your first flight. Don't worry, the instructor will help you through this challenging but exciting experience. Very few people ever forget the first time they take control of an aircraft. Call and schedule your memory today. The Scott Aero Club has 30 minute introductory flights available for $65 per person. For youth who request to have a parent fly with them, there will be an additional charge of $20. To upgrade the introductory flight to an Adventure Flight the fee will increase to $99 and include a logbook and a free 6 month subscription to Flight Training Magazine. New online sign-up: Click Here Private Pilot Ground School: Ground school classes are provided by Southwestern Illinois College (SWIC). Tuition assistance is available for Active Duty personnel; contact SWIC or the Base Education Center for more information. The private pilots kit (includes books, flight computer, ploter, bag, etc) for the class is $286.95. This kit includes all reference and study materials required for training. FAA Written Exams: $90, $80 if active duty or AOPA member We utilize the CATS testing service to offer FAA exams. The test is completed online which provides for instantaneous results. We cannot accept walk-ins, call for a test appointment.
